The Technical Details

Who is developing the game?
Initially developed by 3D Realms, Duke Nukem Forever is now being developed by Triptych Games (founded by nine members of the original 3D Realms team) and Gearbox Software (who bought the rights from 3D Realms.
Who is publishing the game?
Duke Nukem Forever will be published by 2K Games.
When the game be released?
Gearbox has officially confirmed that they'll release the game on May 3, 2011 in North America and May 6, 2011 for the rest of the world.
On what platforms will the game be released?
It will be released for Windows PC, PS3, and Xbox 360
What ESRB rating will the game have?
Considering that anything higher than an 'M' rating is consumer suicide and that anything less than an 'M' doesn't deserve the Duke Nukem title...we think it's pretty obvious what the answers is. Fortunately Gearbox has confirmed that they are aiming for the 'M' rating, even admitting that they are having to work hard to tone down some of the game's rough edges.
Will there be any sequels?
It's always dangerous to ask about sequels for a game that hasn't yet been released and has been in development hell for over a decade. That being said, Gearbox has confirmed that they bought the rights to the franchise with 'the future in mind' and that they consider this the first game in a series.

The Gameplay

What weapons can we expect?
Brian Martel has confirmed that we will see both the Shrink Ray and the Freeze Ray. He also stated that we should expect modern versions of all the weapons we would expect in a Duke Nukem game.
Does the game incorporate an open world?
No. This is not an RPG or Grand Theft Auto. Duke Nukem Forever will follow a fairly linear path that will sometimes incorporate the 'fat lemon' technique. These are areas where you could take multiple paths to the same end point
