It's like the Neverending Story, except there aren't any flying dogs or boy warriors - just a story that never seems to go away. Kotaku says that an inside source has confirmed that Gearbox Software is taking over development of Duke Nukem Forever from 3DRealms. Even better, there might be a playable demo by the end of the year, our better judgment says 'no' to the demo.

Since 3DRealms laid off most of their staff, George Broussard has made vague comments suggesting the development of the game would continue. Not that we're surprised... shouldn't there be something to release after 10 years of effort?
